The M80 motorway runs directly through Old Inns, with Junction 5 located just to the south of the village. This junction provides access to the A73 road to the south and the Auchenkilns interchange to the north. The M80 is a major transport route for the central belt of Scotland, connecting several towns and cities including Glasgow, Cumbernauld, Falkirk, and Stirling.
Although Old Inns is a small village, it is home to several local amenities, including a community hall, a local pub, and a convenience store. The village is also located near to the larger towns of Cumbernauld and Kirkintilloch, which offer a wider range of shops, restaurants, and services.
